Recognizing that many communities may not have park expertise, we would serve as your subject matter expert with the aim of preventing these issues. Our goal is to help community leaders deliver projects on time and within budget. With our extensive experience in every phase of park development and operations, we can help guide you through unexpected pitfalls during concept development and budget planning, and act as your advocate with design and construction firms.

Owner and lead consultant Ron Peters retired in 2022 as the Western District Deputy Director/Operations Manager for NYS Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.  Ron's comprehensive understanding of small and large-scale park projects comes from his 21 years of experience overseeing parks in the Hudson Valley and Western NY, including his role as director of the flagship Niagara Falls State Park.

In his last 10 years with NYS Parks Ron supervised seven regional departments charged with every facet of park operations and maintenance, including developing annual operating budgets for 16 parks in the Niagara region.  Additionally, he was a principal team member on over $300 million of park and joint-agency projects through concept, design, and construction.

Ron has received multiple awards during his career including NYS Parks’ highest honor, the prestigious L.L. Huttleston award for “outstanding ability in the enhancement, administration and implementation of the park system’s philosophy and development for the public good.”

Ron was often asked by community leaders and design consultants to provide insight on their park projects and operations. Those requests inspired him to create Community Park Solutions, LLC as a means of providing a resource for communities that may be lacking park-specific expertise.
